A PAIR OF GOLD AND BOULDER OPAL CUFFLINKS

Condition Report

One opal has had a polished finish in the past, which is now rather scratched, the edge of the setting of this has a split and a dent, the other opal with greater play of colour appears to be unpolished and also has some surface scratching, it is likely that this one is a replacement as the edge of the setting has been worked and it is a little too small for the setting, there is also a split where the edge of the mount meets the back.  The backs and fronts of the mounts are associated, solder marks to the back of one of the front settings, indistinct marks to one torpedo back, the other torpedo back is detailed 10, both fronts are unmarked at the back, some wear to the chains, the loops to the backs of the torpedos are of differing colour, indicating past work
