Apparently reputedly from Oxford University. 


Condition report: 

These look to be made for gas with the taps and pipes projecting down from the top interior of the lantern and later wired for electrical use. One has a loose top and damaged cap to the chimney top. the other is missing the cap and a stylised stiff leaf corner mount. The bases and brackets are later painted black. The brackets could be later and originally the lanterns were possibly fitted on to poles. 

General verdi gris and wear, tear and use commensurate with use and age. 

Please see extra images. The lanterns could date from the early 20th Century rather than later copies.
