Condition report:

The gilding is rubbed to the outside of the box, particularly to the edges and high points, with some verdi gris to the side of the smaller hinged oval lid for the singing bird. The gilding to the interior of this area is bright and well preserved.

The bird with slightly worn wing feathers. Some of the very small coloured metallic sequeen mounts to the neck of the bird with a the odd one missing.

The mechanism does work when wound; the bird and drawer pop open and the bird sings, however we can not provide a guarentee of its full working order and recommend an overhaul/clean by a qualified restorer.
