Circa 1920s, the cushion-cut emerald in a rub-over setting within a border of rose-cut diamonds and further emeralds, with a pierced foliate gallery and diamond set shoulders, unmarked, ring size J, gross weight 7.1g, in a blue ring box

Condition report:

Worn condition, calibre cut emerald halo shows abrasions and chips in several stones, central emerald has a few surface reaching fractures and nibbled facet edges and chips, emerald shows good transparency and strong colour saturation, diamonds good, setting in good condition presumed platinum, with general age related wear.

Approx. dimensions of emerald 11.3mm x 9.8mm x 4.20mm (exact measurements are restricted due to the style of setting)

Provenance: 

Rachel Severne (nee Fitzgerald) daughter of the 28th Knight of Glynn. This was her favourite ring. Rachel was a famous model known as The Swan.
