A DIAMOND BROOCH, CIRCA 1900

The centre suspended with pear-shaped diamond (approx. 0.60ct based on approximate measurements of 8.5mmx 4mmx 2.7mm), otherwise milgrain set with eight-cut diamonds in a pierced bow shaped design, 6cm wide, weight 11.5g, with a Lacloche Fres red leather and gilt tooled case.

Condition report: In good condition overall, box with general wear and some scuffs and marks, hinge opens and shuts good and tight. 

One or two pique inclusions in the pear shaped drop. black inclusion seen. On the pin, mark of front of an eagle head, pin is base metal, no other marks seen Bit of lead solder on the drop.  It has been suggested that some gemstones have been removed from circular setting holes and from rectangular setting holes.
