A ROSE DIAMOND AND IVORY HINGE LIDDED TOOTHPICK BOX

Circa 1800, of rounded rectangular form, the hinged lid centered by a glazed woven hair locket within a surround of rose cut diamonds, the interior fitted with a mirror to the lid and velvet lined, length 7.8cm

Condition Report: Width of box: 18.6mm, depth of box: 8.6mm. The interior lining was originally pale blue and is not largely stained light brown. here is some tarnish spotting around the edge of the mirror. The surrounding core has been glued into position. The hinge is a little stiff. There is slight distortion to the ivory showing  a small gap at the front when the lid is closed. The glazed hair locket and the diamond surround are in good condition. The diamonds slightly draw colour and have one or two internal inclusions. The overall condition is good and attractive.
