A CHINESE POTTERY EQUESTRIAN FIGURE

Probably Han dynasty
The rider seated with hands raised as if to hold the reins, the horse standing four square on a rectangular base, traces of red and black pigments, 36cm high. With Certificate of Antiquity from the Hong Kong Art Craft Merchants Association Limited, dated 1997.

Its is difficult  to be certain about the extent of restorations, but includes restoration to the horse's neck, through the centre of all four legs, the rider's hat, across his face, to both arms and to both thighs
