Tullulah Bankhead was a Hollywood and Broadway actress of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Her most famous film being Alfred Hitchcock's 'Lifeboat' (1944). She flitted between the silver screen and theatre, remembered more for her unconventional and occasional outrageous social behaviour, reputedly sleeping with over 500 people and her dying words being 'codeine - bourbon'.
