A Meissen nodding head figure of Joseph Fröhlich, 19th century, based on a model by J.J. Kaendler, the court jester standing on a scroll edged shaped oval base applied with flowers, blue crossed swords mark, incised 134, impressed 35, 19cm. high.
Two small shallow chips to the inside rim of his collar at the back. Minor wear to the gillding. Small losses to applied flowers and leaves on the base. The pin is missing through his neck to enable the head to move back and forth.
